(Undated) -- The merger of American Airlines and US Airways is complete, creating the world's biggest airline.
The merged airline takes the American Airlines name and will feature almost 6,700 daily flights to more than 330 destinations.
The "Chicago Tribune" says American will employ more than 100,000 people worldwide. The two airlines' websites, reservations systems and loyalty programs will operate separately for the time being.
The merger comes about after American Airlines emerged from two years in bankruptcy protection.
