Americans Spending Less on Halloween This Year

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The majority of Americans plan to do something to celebrate Halloween later this month. But they'll also be keeping an eye on their budget.

More than 80-percent of the respondents in a CreditDonkey.com poll say they'll be spending as much or less than they did on Halloween last year.

A third plan to mark the occasion by decorating their homes, and 65-percent will be carving pumpkins. Just over 60-percent have an invitation to an adult Halloween party, while 18-percent have a kids' party on their Halloween schedule.

The public is closely divided on Halloween costumes, with 51-percent saying they'll buy a pre-made outfit and 49-percent planning to wear something they've made themselves. Only a third say they'll be hitting the streets to go trick-or-treating on October 31st.
