PHOENIX (AP) — Police are investigating the killings of a married couple in their north Phoenix home.
Officers reported finding the bodies of 81-year-old William Singer and his 64-year-old wife Barbara on Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos says detectives determined that trauma and evidence at the scene indicates the deaths are a double homicide.
Martos says officers went to the home near 35th Ave. and Bell Rd. to check on the couple's welfare after a caretaker got no answer at the door.
Police say the couple reportedly was last seen about a week ago.
They say Singer and his wife had been married for more than 30 years, but didn't have any children together.
